Not a broken five color commander like Jodah the Unifier then, but a solid commander for an Ally typal deck - if only the Ally card pool was deep enough to make that viable
The whole point is to run 1-drop evasive creatures (Flying Men, Triton Shorestalker, etc.) and lots of countermagic so that actual threats never hit the board
We still have new ways to approach this concept, such as Card not found, but some of the classics, such as Bob and Card not found, came back in new versions
The subsection of the Magic community that loves to collect things decided that Reserved List cards are desirable because of how old, cool, and scarce they are, and it looks like original set foils might be the next big subsection of cards to get that treatment
