19th Century Grand Tour Silver Gilt & Marble Desk Weight Book Sets The coffer is formed ofAn Italian silver gilt and marble Grand Tour desk weight, circa. late 19th century. The carved sienna marble base is surmounted with a silver gilt infant on a bed, possibly after The Birth Of The King Of Rome. Italian hallmarks to the mount. There are some signs of wear commensurate with age throughout, namely a few small chips to the marble in places and tarnishing to the gilt but overall the piece displays well.
