Its a two mana tutor, sure, but what makes it so great is the ability to cheat mana costs while protecting your splashy equipment from a counterspell, at instant speed

What also makes this avatar great is the fact that it can be combined with powerful damage spells and strong/fast minions

Blocking this guy is a very bad idea, and most of the time you'd rather take the 10 damage straight away

There's no greater feeling of helplessness in Magic than being without any cards in hand, and being able to make your opponent discard a full hand for just eight mana is very powerful

Some of my least favorite sets are exactly that
