Gelli Aur Year:1 YR Referred to as the ‘WiseA late season Welsh cooking apple. Large golden fruit with some red streaks. Creamy textured cooker with a lovely sharp tang. One of the special characteristics of this tree apple is that it can be grown from a cutting. This is a property that few of the Welsh rediscovered apples have. Named Gelli Aur (Golden Grove) after its discovery in the arboretum at Gelli Aur mansion. It had been originally planted there in the 1860s.
