Each bowl starts as a lump of moist clay that is shaped on the potter's wheel. Once the clay stiffens, the narrow foot is trimmed, the side are darted, and then the lip is cut and pitched. Colored slip dots and lines were applied with a metal tipped slip trailer, wrapping the piece in pattern that is both tactile and beautiful. The bowl is glaze fired to cone 6 in an electric kiln.
