自然釉で固く焼きしまっており、水漏れはありません。

状態もよく、魅力的な蝙蝠文の根付です。

瀬戸では灰釉や鉄釉を施した小形の壺をその大小に応じて小壺あるいは豆壺と呼びます。このような小壺類は天目茶碗の出現と軌を一にしており、いずれも薄手の精作で、茶入の初現的なものとして理解されています。
