Unlike Treasure Trove, it can't be easily removed
Still, a card like this is better in the early game, and has diminishing returns as the game goes on, and you cant count having treasure early, so dont expect to fire this off on turn one or two for the more effective mode This doesnt have good base stats, but it does have a good combat damage trigger
Of course, it is a Sorcery, and you dont often have time to use up all your mana on a turn and not add to the board at all, so that really balances things
Dredge used to be a horrifying bogeyman but has fallen off a bit due to the ridiculous amount of cheap, generic, instant speed grave hate available everywhere now, but this card really gives some interesting payoffs by attaching dredge to your lands
It's full of references to the classic Clue boardgame, though there's perhaps an even greater emphasis on the new-to-Magic cards, which are less Clue-inspired and more just Commander cards that gel with the themes and past mechanics of different Ravnica sets
