If you are not familiar with beardtongue and penstemon flowers, they are similar to snapdragons and there are a number of varieties native to the Southwest and other parts of the US and North America. They have a distinctly tubular, bell like shape. This necklaces is representational of the Cochise Beardtongue, a relatively rare plant that I have found near our property (well,
